Eutopian Accident Press Release

EUTOPIAN ACCIDENT RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM,

THE RED LAND TRADITION, ON BRANCH RECORDS

Eutopian Accident, aka Dustin Ragland, has released his debut album, The Red Land Tradition on Branch Records.

The Red Land Tradition was created entirely by Ragland himself (though his wife Becca makes a brief appearance on backing vocals). Ragland recorded the album in his home studios in Oklahoma City and Jefferson Park.  The Red Land Tradition was created with the goal of using as many acoustic elements as possible, working to preserve the roomy sound of live instrumentation.  As the project grew, Ragland began incorporating an 80's pop influence.

The lyrics are crafted just as immaculately as the music. While the album is, in many ways, a tribute to Oklahoma (which means "Red Land"), the lyrics also capture moments in New York, Russia, and various other locales.  One particularly stirring example of this is "Denver, Blurry," inspired by one of Ragland's photographs. Ragland recalls the scene's "unclear but beautiful cast to it, and I sense faith in the same way at times: very unclear, but lovely enough for me to know who it is."

Eutopian Accident is currently planning a small tour with Alexander through the US Southeast. More information can be found on the official website, http://www.branchrecords.com/artists/eutopian-accident/ or by emailing Branch Records at info@branchrecords.com.
